James B. Wall was one of the founders of Burnside Wall, along with Thomas R. Burnside, Jr., now deceased.  The emphasis of the firm, and his primary focus, is representing injured plaintiffs.  While experience in personal injury, business litigation, and insurance litigation includes the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants, his primary emphasis has been on behalf of plaintiffs.  Among his more significant appellant decisions affecting injured parties' rights are the 1982 decision in McCafferty vs. Medical College of Georgia, which overruled long standing sovereign immunity for the State and led to the 1983 Amendment to the Georgia Constitution, and  Hancock vs. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, allowing the plaintiff to stack  uninsured motorist coverage where a tortfeasor is minimally insured.
